Why I Think The 2nd Generation Nano (8GB) Is The Best Of All Nanos
I believe that the Nano peaked with the 2nd Generation model. Generation 2 increased maximum capacity from 4GB to 8GB. The 3rd, 4th and 5th Generation models of course all have video capability. While the picture is crystal clear the screen is so small that it is impossible to seriously enjoy watching a movie on this device. I have watched a few on my G3 and G4 Nanos and realize that the video capability is more of a gimmick than a real selling point. Anyone who wants to watch movies on their ipod would be better served to get an ipod video or ipod touch. Of course you don't have to use your Gen 3+ nano to view video, you can use it to listen to music and it will display the album artwork on a beautiful, larger screen than the Gen 2 nano. Here is my problem with that - if you are like me, and you skip from song to song on your ipod either in shuffle mode or picking the song, the Gen 3+ nano goes through the battery charge very quickly because of the large bright screen. Unless you keep the nano in your pocket with the display off you will get nowhere near the published battery life. So for anyone who wants to use the nano for music only and doesn't want to constantly charge it the 2nd generation nano was the best model. Of course Apple doesn't sell them anymore (even refurbished) and one is forced to go the ebay route. Each subsequent nano release has more bells and whistles which don't really do much for me. If you want the small size of the nano and are just interested in the music you have to go back a few generations.
Price Mistake or Rip-Off
Someone should report this listing to the FBI, this item is for sale at the Apple Store for around $100 new, do not buy from this Amazon listing.
Way too much
Way to much for this, but if you want to toss some dough, step right up. Market Econ 101 at work. OH, the review is based on price. See the new Nano's cost way less.
