Customer Reviews

Love my VE-205
Just thought I'd kick in my two cents... a cell phone tends to be rated, not on how well it does everything, but on how well it serves the user's needs. In my case, I called up Alltel (my server company), told them I was going to be a difficult customer, and read off a list of requirements. In my cases, there are many features I don't use, and don't want. Whether they work or not is of no importance to me. I don't text, and I don't use the internet on my phone. Don't want a 'smartphone'. But the features I required, all 16 unique points, were ALL there, and they all work to my complete satisfaction.
Just to highlight a couple of the (to me) more important points:
Voice recognition is great. No confusion, no repeats. In the last couple of weeks, it has interpreted my speech correctly every single time I used it. Far better than my last phone!
Volume is nice and clear- even for an old guy like me who's a bit hard of hearing.
Large expandable memory- I can (and do!) put my favorite movies on the phone to watch when I'm bored waiting in line at the store. Movie playback has portrait/landscape options, so I can turn it sideways to fill up more of the screen. It gives me the best movie playback of any phone I've tried.

There are other features that I like also, but those are big ones for me. The VE-20 performs exactly how I want it to. From my perspective, that makes it a 10 out of 10. I can understand how someone else might have other needs and rate it differently.

Terrible for texting1
The camera is a 2mp, so it looks good. both screens are beautiful. However, the lag with texting is so terrible that I've found myself screaming at it and nearly snapping the phone in half.

UPDATE: I just got a Blackberry Tour and I took this Motorola out in my driveway, opened it up, and smashed the S*%% out of it with a hammer. It felt great.
